Background
The pandemic situation and the government restrictions on meeting indoors has led to many pub groups having to be creative in developing more usable space, simply to stay in business during these difficult times. As a result of these restrictions Jamie Atherton, general manager at Quarter, a Bristol based independent group of bars and hotels, wanted to create heated outdoor bar areas at two of the group’s venues. He came to Herschel to discuss his heating requirements and the Secret Garden is one of his new covered and heated outdoor hospitality venues.
Solution
The management had already installed Herschel heaters within one of their other hospitality venues, Racks. This newly covered and heated outdoor space had led to an increase in the number of clients they’ve been able to service, under the pandemic restrictions, as well as fantastic feedback. Details of the Racks Bar heating install can be seen here.
Feedback from Jamie Atherton at Racks was: ““We set out to create outdoor spaces that have a real wow factor and the Herschel team really stepped up to help with this. We have used Manhattan heaters to achieve all round heat in stretch tents. Not only do the heaters look great but they give off a captivating warming glow which has made our spaces feel cosy and inviting.”
The Secret Garden, a new pop up space that is covered, is also heated by Herschel Manhattan heaters and Miami heaters, the same heaters used within the Racks development. The powerful 3kW Manhattan infrared heaters have been installed around the outdoor terrace area – the result being a beautifully cosy space that clients can continue to enjoy during the colder months, crucially important when socialising outdoors safely is a priority.
