Customer brief: to provide an effective heating solution for occupiers of a draughty workshopZoned heating for large workshop
Background
The engineering workshop has a floor area of 70m² used for servicing and the repair of machinery. There is a large roller door at one end of the workshop which is often left open.
Zone heating is required for the areas surrounding the work benches.
Solution
Herschel infrared space heaters were recommended for this installation.
Herschel IRP4s were placed above the work benches to supply heating to occupancy areas both sides of the work bench. The installation height is 2.8m above the floor. Each bench has its own heater and is switched independently, and provides adequate heating for this draughty environment.
Results
Energy costs are effectively managed by only heating the required areas.
Installation was quick and installed by Ingram’s electricians.
The client and staff are happy with the quiet and comfortable heat.
