The Herschel iQ MD2 Wired Thermostat is ideal for new builds / renovations where cabling can be neatly hidden whether it be for domestic or commercial applications. When used in conjunction with your wifi network and the SmartLife app, MD2 can also be controlled remotely via the internet, enabling you to manage your heating when you are away from the building. The SmartLife App also enables control of your heating by voice using Alexa or Google Assistant.

MD2 is wired directly to the mains circuit and to the heaters and requires recessing into the wall.

The MD2 thermostat will operate your Herschel heater(s) by turning them on if the room temperature is lower than the desired temperature and turning them off once the desired temperature is reached. The MD2 is easy to operate, featuring a large digital touchscreen display and incorporates the latest EcoDesign energy-saving features including Herschel’s open window technology.

MD2 has a keypad locking feature to prevent unauthorised tampering making it suitable for commercial applications such as hotels, care homes, student accommodation and let properties.  The MD2 is a 16 amp thermostat enabling up to 3.6 kW of Herschel heaters to be connected.

Note: Herschel iQ controls will only work with Herschel heaters.   *Attempted use with any other heater brand will invalidate the warranty.

Herschel Sunset heaters have a built-in tilt switch which will turn the heater off if it experiences movement through 45° of vertical.

Important to note:

• The stand is not intended as a permanent installation;
• Never lower the heater on the extension below 1.8m;
• You must supply your own electrical extensions from a suitable wall socket and plug rated at 13 amps. Any extension leads must be taped or secured to the ground to avoid an accidental tripping hazard;
• The remote control supplied with the heater should be used to control the heater. However, when using the timer function, DO NOT leave the heater on and unattended on long timer periods. Always switch the heater off when unattended;
• Do not use the heater on the stand with any other form of automated switching mechanism.
