Description
The Herschel Halo is our highly innovative, zero light specialist heater designed to provide churches and heritage buildings with a net zero heating solution – delivering cost-efficient radiant comfort whilst preserving and protecting historic interiors and artifacts. The Halo has been designed in direct response to high demand. Following extensive research and development the Halo is manufactured in the UK by Herschel, using British made steel along with aerospace-grade aluminium. Beautifully designed to complement the heritage aesthetic, Halo suspends from high ceilings to effectively warm hard to heat spaces. Emitting zero light heat using far infrared radiant technology, the Halo will directly, gently and safely warm people, objects and the building rather than warming volumes of air like alternative convection heaters. With the option to add dimmable LED lights and stunning decorative finishes, the Halo provides the ideal heating solution for places of worship, listed properties, theatres, hotel lobbies as well as large industrial spaces.
The Halo is available in 4.8kW and 7.8kW and should be used in conjunction with the Herschel APX Controller. Herschel provides a range of bespoke APX control options including simple on/off operation to more sophisticated controls including three power levels (2.6kW, 5.2kW and 7.8kW) for the 7.8kW model, thermostat and remote App control plus motion detection to ensure efficient operation according to your requirements. With Herschel’s long life Kanthal ceramic elements and no moving parts, Halo is maintenance free, has no hazardous components and is 98% recyclable. Delivering fast warm up times and the ultimate flexibility in control, Halo can be used to either gently heat occupants in defined bubbles, within large spaces, or alternatively heat the entire building. Compared to heat pumps and convection based systems savings of over 50% on consumption can be achieved, delivering reduced energy consumption via a 100% CO2 free sustainable solution, when combined with renewables.
The recommended height for installation of the 4.8kW Halo is 3.5 – 4m, with a heated area of 20 – 30m2. The recommended height for installation of the 7.8kW Halo is 4 – 5m, with a heated area of 30 – 50m2. These areas are a guideline only and will be impacted by airflow and ambient temperatures. Dependent upon the property age/type, insulation levels and levels of airflow present, the number of heaters required and running times will vary. For larger domestic or commercial projects we recommend the Herschel Heritage team carry out a survey or detailed desktop assessment.
Please note this is a Special Order item that is made to order. Please contact Herschel to discuss your Halo specification and APX controls prior to ordering.
